DARCI CARLSON (8:30pm)
by Morgan Henley Presents

Straight Up Country. No Chaser.

And that's just how Seattle's Outlaw Country songstress Darci Carlson likes it. Rough-hewn and aggressive, but not tasteless or tacky. An up and coming country artist with an edge that punctuates like the pleasant after burn of a fine spirit.

Nominated in 2015, 2016 and 2017 by honky tonk hero Dale Watson's Ameripolitan Music Awards for Outlaw Female of The Year, and winner of the 2017 award, Darci is being hailed for her rebellion against the taste's of today's Pop Country and serves up hardcore twang with a surprisingly raspy lived-in voice and high energy performance. This isn't Punk Country, and this is no 'vanity act'. This is a no non-sense, foot stompin', throwback, true country affair. A night with Darci Carlson is one hell of a honky tonkin good time.

"We're not leaving Country Music behind, we're taking 'REAL' Country with us."

-Dale Watson

Darci has been compared to other female greats such as Tanya Tucker, Lucinda Williams, Stevie Nicks, and Patty Loveless. She has had the privilege of sharing the stage with acts such as Shooter Jennings, Micky and The Motorcars, Dale Watson, Jamie Wyatt, Nikki Lane, Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers, Bob Wayne and The Outlaw Carnies, Scott H. Biram, and Wayne 'The Train' Hancock to name a few.

Her discography includes her 2008 Pop Punk band Dolly Rottens 'Honeymoon's Over', her 2014 debut Country record 'Release Me' and her newest Self-Titled Country record released in April 2018. Darci Carlson is currently touring in support of her new record.

BIRCH PEREIRA & THE GIN JOINTS, 5pm

SWING - AMERICANA - ROCK'N'ROLL REVIVAL

To step into the soundscape of Birch Pereira & the Gin Joints is to have your fingers on a veritable radio dial. With deep sonic roots in virtually every style of mid-20th century American music - from americana to blues to jazz, soul and vintage rock ’n’ roll - the versatile Seattle-based band offers a rangy dial’s worth of songs for audiences who want to sock-hop in poodle skirts one minute, rock out to hot guitar licks the next and later hug their honeys under the stars as a car stereo plays into the night.

Birch Pereira & the Gin Joints are a popular Northwest band who perform extensively on the West Coasts of the US and Canada with recurring gigs in New York City, New Orleans and Los Angeles as well. In 2016 their first album, Dream Man, won Earshot Jazz Society’s "Northwest Jazz Recording of the Year" and in 2017 & 2018 Birch was nominated as "Vocalist of the Year". Their second album "Western Soul," which features western-tinged jazz and soul originals, was released in March 2018 and received enthusiastic reviews from No Depression, PopMatters, JazzIs and steady airplay on a diverse array of stations in the Northwest and beyond, including KEXP, KNKX KBCS, WVPR, KBOO and many others.
